RCAC staff to present at national research computing conference next week

  • Science Highlights

Staff members from the Rosen Center for Advanced Computing (RCAC) will present papers, lead workshops and participate in panels at the upcoming Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) conference, themed: “The Power of Collaboration.” This year's conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio, from July 20-24, 2025.

The PEARC conference is an opportunity for those in the research computing community to share their knowledge, discuss challenges in their field, and collaborate with others within the industry. This community-driven effort builds on successes of the past and aims to grow and be more inclusive by involving additional local, regional, national, and international cyberinfrastructure and research computing partners spanning academia, government and industry.

Lan Zhao and other members of RCAC’s Scientific Solutions Group (Jaewoo Shin, I Luk Kim, Carol Song and Chimdia Kabuo) will present: “Developing an Interactive Online Platform for Advanced Cyber Training and Adaptive Learning Paths” on July 22 from 11:30 - 11:45 a.m., as part of the Applications and Software track.

Daniel Madren, senior research development administrator, and Geoffrey Lentner, lead research data scientist, will lead a BoF (Birds of a Feather) workshop “Navigating Open-Source Software Commercialization: From Infancy to Maturity” on July 22 from 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. This panel will feature experts from across the research computing landscape to discuss sustainability and commercialization in OSS.

Senior research scientist Erik Gough and senior research data scientist Ashish will present their paper “Providing On-Prem GenAI Inference Services to a Campus Community” on July 22 at 2:00 PM-2:15 p.m., as part of the Applications and Software track.

Gough will also speak on a panel at the ACM SIGHPC SYSPROS Symposium on Monday, July 21. Taylor Graham is a committee member for this workshop.

Many RCAC staff members are also involved in PEARC25 conference leadership, including participating as co-chairs or members of committees such as the Committee of Accessibility and Belonging, the Student Program, Exhibits and Proceedings. Katy Gunderson is leading graphic design for the conference.
