The Fundamentals of HPC in-person workshop takes researchers from scratch through basic cluster usage and necessary UNIX concepts and practices. The first day starts with an introduction to high-performance computing basics and leads with a basic hands-on example from your personal laptop and escalates it to remote cluster computing. The second day covers more advanced HPC and UNIX practices and concludes with an extended topic on high-throughput computing where the same original hands-on example is scaled up to many nodes using job arrays and specialized cluster tools. Participants do not necessarily need to have an existing account on the cluster or prior experience. A personal laptop computer is required.
This event runs from 8:30AM - 4:30 each day
