[RCAC Workshop] Intro to HPC and Anvil
This seminar will begin with a brief overview of the history of high-performance computing (HPC) and its evolving role in modern scientific research. We will then explore today’s HPC ecosystem, highlighting how national initiatives such as NSF ACCESS and NAIRR are expanding access to advanced research computing resources. Building on this foundation, we will take a closer look at Anvil as a practical example. Through this case study, we will examine the typical organization, architecture, and user interfaces found on most HPC systems to provide participants with a concrete understanding of how these systems are structured and accessed.
