[RCAC Workshop]GPU Programming for HPC (CUDA & OpenACC)
📅 Date: November 13, 2025 ⏰ Time: 1PM-2PM 💻 Location: VIRTUAL 🏫 Instructor: Jacob Verburgt
Who Should Attend Students and researchers with basic programming experience who are interested in learning how to effectively leverage GPUs for scientific computing and analysis. Familiarity with Python or C++ programming is recommended, but no prior GPU programming experience is required.
What You'll Learn This training introduces participants to the fundamentals of GPU acceleration and how it can be applied to scientific research. The first half will focus on the foundations of GPU programming with direct examples in CUDA C++ and OpenACC. Core concepts in parallelization, memory management, and GPU execution models will be introduced. The second half will explore high-level Python APIs for adapting existing workflows for GPU acceleration without the necessity for low-level programming. To reinforce concepts, the workshop will include live demonstrations and tutorial materials that participants can follow along with and later use as references in their own projects.
