Research Solutions Engineer
Tom is a seasoned IT professional with over 15 years of user support experience at Purdue. Past work includes standing up and managing IoT (primarily NVIDIA Jetson) AI research labs across various campus locations, project management, general instrument lab support, and Windows, Mac, and Linux desktop support.
These days, Tom specializes in high performance computing workflows for large scale atmospheric and Earth system models, with experience in WRF, CESM, CMAQ, etc. and related modeling frameworks. His work emphasizes porting, debugging, user-reproducible builds, and efficient execution on HPC systems, enabling complex simulations to run smoothly at scale.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys photography, fishing, hiking with his dog, microscopy, and tinkering with variety of electronics.
